Kathy Knight currently serves as a Certified Public Accountant for Watkins and Company, CPAs. Kathy provides a wide range of accounting and tax services to individuals and professional service companies here at Watkins and Company. Additionally, she serves as the firm’s human resources and benefits administrator.
Prior to joining Watkins and Company, Kathy was a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Intensive Care Unit at Greenville Memorial Hospital, located in Greenville, SC. During her tenure with Greenville Memorial, Kathy used her advanced nursing skills to care for patients that were critically ill as well as provide education and support to patients and their families.
Ms. Knight graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spalding University, in Louisville, KY, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. In 2011, Kathy completed business courses at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, to obtain an Accounting Certificate that allowed her to take and pass the Uniform CPA Examination in 2012. In 2015, Kathy obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with accounting concentration from Mississippi College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Kathy grew up in Canton, MS and graduated from Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School in Jackson, MS. Between graduating from high school and undergraduate college, Kathy served two years in AmeriCorps NCCC. She served first as a Corps Member and then as a Team Leader on a team of ten to twelve 18–24-year-olds that traveled throughout the Southeast working on various service projects in schools, state parks, and alongside community nonprofit organizations like Habitat for Humanity. She now resides in Madison, MS with her husband and two daughters. When Kathy is not working, she enjoys going to her kids’ activities, reading, family game nights, and traveling with her husband.
