Kathy Knight currently serves as a Certified Public Accountant for Watkins and Company, CPAs. Ms. Knight’s responsibilities include client payroll management and tax return preparation. For over six years, she has provided a wide range of accounting and tax services to individuals and professional service companies. Additionally, she serves as the firm’s human resources and benefits administrator.
Prior to joining Watkins and Company, Kathy was a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Intensive Care Unit at Greenville Memorial Hospital, located in Greenville, SC. During her tenure with Greenville Memorial, Kathy used her advanced nursing skills to care for patients that were critically ill as well as provide education and support to patients and their families.
Ms. Knight graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spalding University, in Louisville, KY, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. In 2011, Kathy completed business courses at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, to obtain an Accounting Certificate that allowed her to take and pass the Uniform CPA Examination in 2012. In 2015, Kathy obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with accounting concentration from Mississippi College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Kathy was born and grew up in Canton, MS. She graduated from Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School in Jackson, MS. Between graduating from high school and undergraduate college, Kathy served two years in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps. She now resides in Madison, MS with her husband and two daughters. When Kathy is not working she enjoys reading, training to run the MS Blues half-marathon with her husband, family game night, and weddings that have fun dance parties. She also enjoys putting on her scrubs once a month to maintain her Nursing license at Fresenius Medical Care in Jackson.
